I set up RM Wood Master in 2013. I began my City & Guilds qualification in 1979 gaining distinctions and credit in both ordinary and advanced levels of Carpentry & Joinery. From the start my interest in the trade has been a love of working with and understanding wood and its beauty and the joy and satisfaction it can bring. I served an extremely wide and varied apprenticeship finishing in 1983 as a fully qualified Carpenter and Joiner and have practiced and honed my trade ever since.
I have worked for several local building firms and major construction companies whilst running my own Joinery business. At an early age I became a site manager with a keen interest in project and programme management working on numerous projects overseeing the carpentry and building work.
I joined HM Prison service in 1992 as an industrial craftsman Carpenter and worked through the grades to become a London Area Estates Manager in 2009 with a responsibility for all types of minor and major building maintenance including overall line management for 42 members of staff of all trades. During this time I gained numerous further qualifications including project management and certificates in NEBOSH Health & Safety in construction and NEBS management.
Following redundancy I used the 35 years experience I have gained in the carpentry and building trade and project management to establish RM Wood Master.
